Crown and Bridges

A dental Crown is a cap or covers that dentists place over a tooth. Dental crowns restore the tooth to its normal size, shape, and function. Crowns can even strengthen your teeth and improve their appearance. Dental crowns can be made of ceramic, metal alloys, porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, or composite resin. Whatever the material, it will likely be a color that will blend in with the natural color of your teeth.

A dental bridge consists of two or more dental crowns on either side of a gap created by a missing tooth, with a false tooth placed in between. These types of artificial teeth are called pontics and can be made from different materials such as alloys, porcelain, gold, or a combination of these. The purpose of a dental bridge is exactly what the name suggests, to fill the space left by one or more missing teeth. If necessary, the bridge is supported by natural teeth or implants.
